About Starting a Restaurant

This blog is unique in many ways. The reader will get to see a restaurant come together literally day by day. New entrepreneurs can see the tasks they will have to face while bringing their idea to fruition. I hope to convey all the energy, challenges, second thoughts, random ideas and actual daily juggling it takes to get the restaurant open.

While I want to be as factual as possible and include the forms, practical considerations and experience I have been fortunate enough to acquire over the last 30 plus years, I also want the emotions to come through that every entrepreneur feels with any new adventure. There will be frustration, second thoughts, trepidation and the constant fear af failing that is always in the back of your mind.

This should be easier for me, since it is my fourth restaurant and probably 20th business over the years. I can happily say that I haven’t had any glaring failures, but that doesn’t lessen the fear.

My goal with the blog is to document and educate the first time entrepreneur; particularly in the restaurant business, but the challenges are similar if you were opening any kind of business.

Follow along my crooked path. Feel free to send me your thoughts, ideas and suggestions. I have never stopped learning from other people. Maybe that is what is so compelling about writing this blog; so others tcan share what I have collected from the people who were kind enough to share their knowledge with me.
